Swallowable Gastric Balloon

The swallowable gastric balloon is a capsule swallowed with water and, months later, naturally excreted.

When the balloon is well placed into the stomach, the balloon is inflated with a special liquid with a thread-like catheter attached to the back of the capsule, and a film is drawn again to check whether the balloon is inflated. The swallowable gastric balloon disintegrates spontaneously within 4 months and is thrown out through the intestinal tract. However, although the ruptured balloon is very rare, it may cause intestinal obstruction and therefore surgery may be required.

The procedure removes fat that is difficult to remove by targeted exercise or diet. The success of such surgery depends on the elasticity of the patient’s skin, age, weight and his/her expectations. Liposuction is a body shaping operation and is definitely not a weight loss surgery.

How is the Swalloweable gastric balloon placed?

The balloon compressed into the capsule is swallowed with the help of water. The capsule is large enough to be swallowed.

How to remove the Gastric Balloon from the body?

The biggest advantage of the swallowable gastric balloon is that it does not require re-extraction compared to endoscopically applied gastric balloons. The gastric balloon, which remains in the body for 6 Months, empties slowly at the end of this period and will be expelled from the body without a bad feeling.

How much weight can I lose with a swallowable balloon?

Gastric balloons can be designed for lasting for 6 months or 12 months. Patients can start seeing the difference couple of weeks later after a swallowable gastric balloon surgery. They can already lose weight in the first weeks after a gastric balloon placement if the patients are following their diets and eating more healthy. Day 1

Arrival in İstanbul
